The IBU Junior Cup in Madona has successfully concluded, bringing together around 200 athletes from 18 countries at the Smeceres sils venue and once again confirming Madona’s ability to host high-level international biathlon competitions. Four days of racing delivered high sporting intensity, strong international representation, and excellent performances by Latvian athletes, including a historic achievement by home favourite Estere Volfa.

Immediately after the IBU Junior Cup, Madona continues to live in the rhythm of biathlon. From 23 to 25 January, the IBU regional event “Baltic Biathlon Cup” will take place at Smeceres sils, serving simultaneously as the Latvian Open Biathlon Championships. The competition will welcome athletes from the Baltic states and other regional countries, covering a wide range of age groups — from youth to juniors, seniors, and Masters categories.
